I live in minnesota and the winter is stunning with the snow and i’ve always wanted an outdoor wedding, but the summer can be too harsh (humidity, lots of storms, etc.) but do you think that the winter would be too cold? It can get down to -30 degrees, but we would have heat lamps and hot chocolate and coffee along with wraps for our guests. I have a friend who would give us her beautiful backyard for the ceremony. What do you think? Too cold? We have about 200 people and the reception would be indoors. We would definatly tell everyone that the wedding will be outside.
That sounds like a brilliant idea! If you let the guests know, they’ll dress for it. The lamps are a good idea. The photos will be beautiful! It’s your wedding, make it memorable in a way that will suit you best. I think it would be gorgeous.

I am part of a bridal party and the wedding was canceled with a month’s notice. The mother of the bride graciously offered to cover our expenses (plane tickets and cost of the dresses). The plane tickets are non-refundable. I was thinking instead of letting them go to complete waste (and b/c I don’t have plans for that weekend now) I could still use them for a weekend away to visit some friends and family. I do not want to lose the money spent on these tickets but I also don’t want to see the tickets go to waste. What should be protocol for this?
If you use the tickets you should not accept a refund from the mother of the bride. Very tacky move if you do!
